Magnesium Trisilicate

Magnesium Trisilicate

Magnesium Trisilicate is an inorganic compound widely used as an antacid in the treatment of peptic ulcers. It is also used as an antioxidant, decolorizing agent and industrial odor absorbent. Magnesium Trisilicate has a variable composition corresponding approximately to Mg₂Si₃O₈.xH₂O. It is rarely administered alone and is commonly combined with other antacids such as Aluminium Hydroxide or Sodium Bicarbonate.

We specialize in manufacturing high-purity antacid and pharmaceutical raw materials conforming to global pharmacopeia standards including IP, BP, USP and EP.

Advantages & Disadvantages

Magnesium Trisilicate helps neutralize gastric acid and increase stomach pH. It also reduces phosphate levels in urine, thereby preventing the formation of phosphate urinary stones and lowering serum phosphate levels. Additionally, it decreases the fluidity of stools.

Exposure to Magnesium Trisilicate dust may be harmful if inhaled and may cause irritation to the respiratory tract. Appropriate handling and storage precautions should therefore be followed.
